On 3 Sep 2011, Mohd Nur Kamal, the CEO of SPAD wrote a letter to The Star regarding its article. In the letter, he stated that the land affected is compulsorily acquired under the Land Acquisition Act 1960 since it is solely for the technical needs for the MRT project, namely for the tracks whether elevated or underground, stations, and support facilities such as park and ride facilities.

Property owners are ready to fight for a higher compensation in return for MRT being built beneath their land.
However, their main aim is to still fight for realignment.
