In the beginning of time some Americans wanted to end slavery and others could care less eventually the country split into two sides the Northern free states and the Southern slavery states but then in 1860 Abraham Lincoln a Northerner who hated slavery was elected president and wanted a law to be passed for no slave owners but then the civil war happened.
