Federal Prison System Established
The Congress passed the “Three Prisons Act”, that established the starting of the Federal Prison System. The 3 prisons established where at Leavenworth, Atlanta, and McNeil Island, whose worked with a limited oversight. -
Federal Bureau of Prisons is Established
This institution was established with the purpose of centralizing the administration from different associations that would help standardizing regulations. From the hand of the Federal Prison System, highlighting their problems and requiring attention for inmate programs. -
Robert F. Kennedy Youth Center
This institution had the purpose of replacing the National Training School for Boys, implementing new concepts of generating and promoting a unit management and treatment programs. -
Federal Executions Resumed
Executions stopped in 1963, but it resumed with the execution of Timothy McVeigh, this act took place at the Special Confinement Unit, most know as the Death Row at Indiana. -
First Special Management Unit Facility
This institution was established for having a better control, management, and restrictions over the most aggressive and disruptive inmates from general populations. -
