Correction Fluid was invented by Bette Nesmith Graham who was an American typist and a commercial artist. As a typist, she used to make many mistakes and find a way to correct them. The correction fluid was mixed by a kitchen blender with the basic tempera paint.

Graham founded a company which is called Mistake Out Company. She worked days and nights in her kitchen to produce the correction fluid.

In 1957, she was selling around 100 bottles a month. Good press coverage in a stationary magazine increased turnover five-fold and the business was showing signs of life.

In 1968, 17 years after launching Liquid Paper, the company was finally big enough to invest in a factory and head office. Headquarters for the company was built in Dallas and, under Graham抯 instructions, included a childcare center and a library.
