  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris ends the Seven Year's War. Britain receives all land east of the Mississippi River. Spain maintains territory west of the Mississippi, but exchanges East and West Florida for Cuba. France surrenders nearly all mainland North American possessions, except New Orleans, in order to keep the Caribbean Islands.
  • Proclamation

    The Prolamation Line ordered colonists to stop setteling in lands west of the Appalaction Mountains, Which had been set aside for American Indians.

    The Boston Massacre, called the Boston Riot by the British, was an incident on March 5, 1770, in which British Army soldiers killed five civilian men.

    The Committees of Correspondence Established were committees of correspondence were bodies organized by the local governments of the Thirteen Colonies, during the American Revolution for the purposes of coordinating written communication outside of the colony.
  • Boston Tea Party

    In protest of the Tea Act, a group of colonists let by the Sons of Liberty dress as Native Americans and board British ships and throw British tea overboard.
  • Intolerable Acts

    British Parliament passed a series of laws for the colonies to pay taxes on many goods. The parliament wanted money from the colonists to help pay for the 7 year war debt that they had accumulated. The Intolerable Acts triggered outrage which lead to the developments and growth of the American Revolution.
  • First Continental Congress

    Leaders from all the colonies except Georgia met in Philadelphia. Delegates hoped for a peaceful solution to their problems with Great Britian. The Congress sent a petition, or a signed request, to King George the third.

    The british government continued to refuse to compromise its colonial policies.The shot around the world was the start of the revolution

    Not everyone wanted to be independent; those that did tried to convince them to. They nominated George Washington to lend the army. They try to get help form the French and Spain. Also try to get a government and Army.

    The treaty document was signed at the Hôtel de York by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and John Jay (representing the United States) and David Hartley (a member of British Parliament representing the British Monarch, King George III).
