7;17 p.m. - Authories receive a 911 call from an indivdual reporting an altercation. During the call, the dispatcher hears a gunshot and sends Sanford police to 1231 Twin Trees Lane.
The police find an unresponsive man with one gun shot wound to the chest and no identification on him. He is pronounced dead at the scene and labeled a John Doe until they are able to identify him. -
Zimmerman is questioned and has his gun confiscated. After a lengthy interview, Zimmerman is released at 1 a.m. from the Sanford Police Department.
