    In 1754 the British colonists fought the French and Indian forces. The war lasted for nine years. Finally Great Britain won, but it cost a great deal of money which resluted in creating taxes. There was lots of rioting and people became angrier and angrier when soldiers tried to stop them. People worked tgether to stop taxes and the 13 colonies started coming together

    In 1789 the delagates realized making changes in the Articles woulfnt be anough. They decided to make a constitution. There were three branches within the constitution, Legislative, executive, and Judical. The constitution was approved on September 17th The success of ht4e constitution pushed people in other places to fight for freedom. This helped shape America into a free country.

    Abraham Lincoln was elected president in 1860. He thought slavery was evil and unjust. He denied its spreading. The Emancipation Proclamation was a document created to free slaves from rebeliious states. South Carolina tried to secede from America. Lots of other southern states followed creating the Confederate States. Lincoln said the states could not secede under the Constitution.. The rebellion was put down.

    In 1939 Germany invaded Poland starting World War 2. Great Britain and france stood against the Nazis. The nazis killed 6 million people. Among those people were Jews, people with mental disabilities, gypsies, and political opponents. World War 2 was a human disaster. 50 million poeple died. Millions lost their homes. The US created the United Nations to keep peace among nations.

    On September 11th 2001, terrorists hijacked planes going to new york. They flew the planes into the twin . They ended up killing everyone on the plane and many people in the building. Two other planes were hijacked one plane flew into the Pentagon, the other plane was flown into a field in Philadalphia. This effected everyone in the United states. Hundreds of people were shocked and many and lost loved ones. 9/11 has made airport security much stronger. Everyone will remember those who died.
