Another one of their missions was to find a waterway that led to the Pacific Ocean. After two years Jefferson was elected, he asked congress to fund an expedition through the louisiana territory.

    The civil war was between the north and the south of the United States. The war ended with the north winning. The reason of the war was that congress wanted to stop the spread of slavery but the south wanted the slaves. Many men died from both sides.

    The assassination of Abraham Lincoln took place at the Ford's Theater in Washington D.C. He was our sixteenth president of the United States. Abraham Lincoln also passed the Emaciation Proclamation.

    Passed by congress stated that no one can own an African american slave. No black person can be sent to jail for not being a slave.

    The first car to be made in the United States was the Model T. This help innovate transportation throughout the country. It was easier to transfer goods or people to destinations.

    United States enter World War 1 due to multiple reasons. The United States joined Britain, France, and Russia. The enemies were Germany, Austria- Hungary, Ottoman empire, and Bulgaria.

    The first television help innovate on news coverage and a whole lot technical upgrade from radio. People can now watch and see what is happening in their country

    The Great Depression happened with the stock market collapsed due to that made many people homeless. People had no where to go and started to make houses out of scraps and calling them hoover vile after the former president.

    United States joins World War 2 in December 7 1941. The allies were France, and United Kingdom and Soviet Union. The allies won and the war ended in 1945.
  • The Pearl Harbor Attack

    The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was on December 21, 1941. About 400 seamen perished during the attack. Two american destroyers and 188 aircraft were destroyed. On the USS Arizona over 1,000 Americans died.

    Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous 'I have a dream speech,' on August 28, 1963. He gave this speech to call for an end to slavery. He gave his speech at the famous Lincoln Memorial. MLK was the leader of the Civil Rights Movement. This speech brought more attention to the movement.

    Vietnam War was due to the spread of communism from Russian to other European countries. In order to try to stop the spread United States came into the war. People argue saying that we shouldn't join the war due to the lives that were taken.

    Apollo 11 was sent out to the moon to have the first ever man on the moon. The success of landing and being the first on the moon from Russia was a game changer. This happened during the Cold War between the US and Russia. The race to space was whoever can reach the farthest out to space can control everything even weapons.

    On September 11 2001 two airplanes crashed into the twin towers or the World Trade Center. The two airplanes were taken over by terrorist group AL Qaeda. After the planes crashes the two towers collapse. Many people lost their lives do to the crashes and the events after that.

    Barack Obama the first African American president of the United States. The importance of him being president was that he was half black and not along ago segregation was happening. Blacks could not do what they can now do in today's world, like drinking the same water fountain or go to libraries.
