  • Start of the maiden voyage.

    This is the beginning of the White Star liner Titanic's maiden voyage.

  • Out of Queenstown Harbor.

    The boat was fully loaded. With 2,201 people aboard.

  • 9:00 AM: message from Caronia.

    A message from the steamer Caronia saying that there was an ice field ahead.

  • 1:42 PM; message from Baltic.

    A message from the Baltic warning about ice on steamer track.
    The messsage was brought up to the bridge.

  • Between 9:00AM & 1:42 PM: message from Californian.

    A message was sent from the Californian but was not recorded.

  • 7;15 PM: message from Baltic posted in chart room.

    Earlery the captain had given the message to Mr. Ismay ,chairman of the White Star Line. The captain asked Mr. Ismay for the message so he could post it on the chart room.

  • 11:40: Iceberg seen.

    At 11:40 the Iceberg was seen. Shortly after if was seen the Titanic started to turn and began to stop. Because it was going too fast it still hit the iceberg.

  • 12:20 am Water burst into seamen's quarters.

  • 12:25 am Message sent to ships.

    A Message was sent out at 12:25 am to nearby ships, saying "Come at once, we have struck a berg"

  • 12:30 am Passengers are alerted.

    At 12:30 am all the passengers are told that they should get into lifeboats. All the women and children are instructed to get into the lifeboats first..

  • 12:45 am life boat #7 lowered into water.

    They started lowering lifeboats into the water on the starboard.

  • 1:00 am front of Titanic in the sea.

  • 1:20 am Water enters # 4 boiler room.

  • 1:30 AM Lifeboats are being lowered into sea on both sides.

  • 1:40 AM Engine room is flooded.

  • 1:45 AM back of ship sticking out of water, front under water.

  • 2:00 AM Asian hears SOS

    At 2:00 AM Asian hears SOS. There are 660 people in lifeboats, 1500 still on board.

  • 2:17 AM Virginian hears call for help

  • 2:18 AM Ship upends to 60 degrees.

  • 2:20 AM Titanic sinks

  • 2:40 AM Carpathia spots lifeboat No. 2.

  • 4:10 AM Carpathia picks up first lifeboat passengers

  • Night: the world hears Titanic sank

  • Due to arrive in New York.

  • Carpathai arrives in New York with survivors
