    Noam Chomsky was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as the eldest son of two Jewish immigrant parents. His father was a respected professor of Hebrew and his mother was a political activist. Noam Chomsky received three degrees (B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in linguistics) and married his childhood friend Carol Doris Schatz and had three children.
