    The 35th president of the United States was assassinated on November 22, 1963 at 12:30 pm in Dallas, Tx in Dealey Plaza. Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots, fatally wounding President Kennedy and Governor Collany. Kennedy died minutes after in a hospital. Vice president Lyndon Johnson took office.

    "The Servicemen's Readjustment act of 1944" signed by president Franklin D. Roosevelt. It helped soldiers secure stability as they returned to civil life. Also established hospitals, made low-interest mortages available and granted stipends covering tuiton and expenses for veterans attending college or trade schools.

    Earl Warren was a prominent 20th century leader of american politics. During his three terms in office he secured major reform legislation. Failed to claim republican nomination-he was appointed the 14th chief justice of the U.S Supreme Court.1953

    The first polio vaccine-inactivated was developed by Jonas Salk and came into use in 1955. The oral polio vaccine was developed by Albert Sabin and came into use by 1961.
