In 250 B.C Archimedes created a screw that could lift water upwards. This happened after the current king at that time told Archimedes to build the biggest ship ever, after he did the ship was proved leaky and Archimedes invented a screw to transport the water out of it. It was very effective as it required only 1 person.

Archimedes created pulleys and used them in more complex ways. He used pulleys to transfer a ship from The Ancient Greek Empire to Egypt as a peace treaty gift. He said he could move the earth with pulleys if someone told him the right place to stand.https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi1_qnIoN6BAxWEPXAKHdixDWUQFnoECAgQAw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hawaii.edu%2Farchimedes%2FArchimedes_the%2520_Man.htm%23%3A~% -
Archimedes discovered buoyancy simply by testing experiments on various solids in water. He found out that if the net upward of the force of the object is equal to that of the fluid then it will be held up by bouyancy.

Archimedes had created a death ray which could focus sunlight using mirrors to burn ships. He also created catapults and stone-launchers that would throw burning rocks that weigh 250lbs.https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwj6oKreoN6BAxX5afUHHd1gB88QFnoECAgQAw&url=https%3A%2F%2Flink.springer.com%2Fchapter%2F10.1007%2F978-1-4020-8915-2_4%23%3A~%3Atext%3DIt%2520is%2520said%2520that%2520Archimedes%2Ccausing%2520them%2520to%2520catch%2520fire -
