  • Sputnik 1 Is Launched Into Space

    The Soviet Union launches the worlds first ever Artificial Earth Satellite into low earth orbit, consequently starting the space race.
    Sputnik was used to observe low orbit and to be made an example that the Soviet Union was capable of such feats.
  • The First Industrial Robot

    George Devol and Joe Engleberger design the first programmable robot ‘arm’, which becomes the first industrial robot making production much easier and safer.
  • Apollo 11

    Apollo 11 was the most exciting moment in human history as it was the mission that sent Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin to the moon which carved a mark in history and also brought an end to the Space Race.
  • Shakey The Robot

    Shakey The Robot was the first general purpose mobile robot which was able to ponder about it's own actions. Shakey was able to take a command and break it down to which it would then perform those actions. Shakey was also the first robot to merge logical reasoning and physical action.

    Deep Blue was dismantled after its rematch against Garry Kasparov who called the company behind Deep Blue(IBM) cheaters for tampering with the computer during the tournament.
