    During World War II, Thomas Kuhn joined the Radio Research Laboratory's theoretical group at Harvard University. Kuhn's group was tasked to aid in detecting and disrupting enemy radars. Kuhn's efforts landed him in various places across Europe studying captured enemy radar equipment and technology.
