Roosevelt was born in New York on October 17, 1858. He was one of the most memorable people from our history. He did so much for our country. -
McKinley Was Assassinated
McKinley was shot on stage. He was shaking hands with people at the Pan American exhibition in Buffalo. Roosevelt was named President immediately. -
Devils Tower
The Devils Tower is one of the most outstanding geological monuments there is. It comes out of the rolling prairie by the Black Hills. There are a bunch of parallel cracks that makes the monument one of the most popular climbing places there is. -
Energy Crisis
The energy crisis happened because, of the coal strike. The coal miners stooped working because of the harsh labor. Since they weren't working they didn't have any coal for energy. Roosevelt tried to turn the situation around and pleaded them to keep working. -
Pelican Island
On March 14, 1903 President Roosevelt was named the first national wildlife refugee in the United States.Pelican Island is located on the cost of Orchid island. It was made so that birds and other types of animals can be protected. -
Elkins Act
The Elkins act was passed in 1903. It was named for the Senator Stephan B. Elkins. The act was passed to end the practice of rebates. The act gave the federal courts the right to end rate discrimination. -
Yosemite under Federal Control
Roosevelt visited Muir in Yosemite. They went camping in the woods. The president wanted to have some "camp fire time" and just hang out. -
Winning Presidency
On November 8, 1904 Roosevelt is named president. After the assassination of McKinley he was named president. Then on this day he won the election on his own. -
Pure Food and Drug Act
The most important event that happened was the Pure Food and Drug Act. It is to protect people from getting bad food and drugs. Everything has to be labeled so people know what is in their food and drugs. -
Africa Visit
In 1908 Roosevelt left the presidency even though he was very liked. He needed action so he wanted to go hunt for wild game in Africa. He was also going to collect specimen for the Smithsonian institution. -
Bull Moose
Theodore Roosevelt left presidency in 1909. He was the leader and founder of the Bull Moose Progressive Party. Taft succeeded him very easily when he left. -
Hero
Theodore Roosevelt was a hero to the people when he returned from the Spanish- American war. He did whatever he could to support his people. He was the most viscous person and did what he had to do to defeat them.
