    -Improving America’s Schools Act of 1994, which required state academic-content standards and tests,

  • EASA Reauthorization: "No Child Left Behind"

    -Publication of these test results means that parents, taxpayers, educators, and policymakers have more information at their access, which has made possible a more informed national dialogue on education. This is a giant step forward from 1983, when the public knew comparatively little about student performance.
    The purpose/goal of the legislation is the same; most funds are in Title 1 for education support for disadvantaged students.
