    On May 2nd, 1887, a retired priest named H.W. Goodwin was the first to invent a celluloid froll-film.
    This New Yorker was not only the first to begin production of his process, his creation was used for the kinetoscope, an early device for viewing animation, invented by Thomas Edison.
