The Warped name comes from the short-lived Warp Magazine, published by Transworld, which covered surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, and music. -
VANS AMONG OTHERS
The skateboard shoe manufacturer Vans, among others, has sponsored the tour every year since 1995, and it is often called the Vans Warped Tour. The tour began as a showcase for punk rock music, but its more recent lineups have featured diverse genres. -

Vans Warped Music Sampler 1996 is the first installment in the official compilation series accompanying the Warped Tour. It includes 21 tracks from artists in the 1996 Warped Tour lineup. -

Warped Tour 2012
The Warped Tour 2012 kick off party took place March 29, 2012 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California featuring performances by Falling in Reverse, The Used, Yellowcard, Dead Sara, Matt Toka and Forever Came Calling.
