In the event of the Battle of the Coral Sea a battle between American and Japanese aircraft. Led by Lieutenant Colonel James Doolittle. Aircraft launched from aircraft carriers bombed enemy ships. War was a draw and prevented the Japanese from invading into Australia. It took place across the Pacific. -

The Battle of Midway was led by commander Joseph Rochefort. Who broke the Japanese code JN-25. Battle of Midway was fought entirely from the air. Americans planes based on Midways airfields. Japans noticed that Americans had warplanes.The battle was fought on the islands. The American victory Japanese loss 250 planes. -

The Battle of Guadalcanal was led by General Alexander. His strategy was to capture Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. Where Japanese were building airfield to threaten the Allies. American navy took control of the waters around the islands in November. Allies had conquered their first piece of Japanese held territory. -

The atomic bombings of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki made Japand surrender the nuclear weapons that where used. United States called for surrender from Japan. Japan ignored and where attacked.
