The Telegraph was invented in 1793, and signals were first sent along wires. The invention of the telegraph inspired inventors to try and send not just signals but the human voice along the wire. -
Bell's first telephone had one combined mouthpiece and earpiece. When yo spoke into the horn, the voice was converted into electric signals which were carried along telephon wires. Bell's firts word on the telephone were to his assistant. "Mr Watson, come here, I need you" -
