Sentenced to death and unsentenced to death.
In April of 1935 they changed the convictions again becuase of the 14th ammendment violation. The 14th ammendment clearly states that citizenship is granted "all persons born or naturalized in the United States" and that even included slaves. With that in mind the U.S Supreme Court changes the convictions because of the racially biased jury. There were no African American people present to give a say, so the jury was unfair and the convictions were changed.
