Dred Scott Decision
Dred Scott argued that because he was in a free territory he was a free man. The court and law say that property must be returned to the rightful owner. -
Attack on Harpers Ferry
John Brown was against slavey he wanted all the slaves to fight for their freedom. Although no slaves ever joined him Brown kept on fighting for the slaves freedom, and got himself put to death. America started then to take the issue of slavery more seriously -
The Election of 1860
Abraham Lincon the electon but southerners don't trust he will keep his promises to abolish slavery. Southern states began to secede from the Union shortly after Lincon is elected because they want slaves.
