Proclamation of 1763
At the end of the French and Indian War, the Brittish issued a proclamation to hold the Colonist off of the Native's land. -
Sugar Act of 1764
After the French and Indian War the mother land is left with a huge dept, so the Parlament puts taxes on sugar. -
Currency Act of 1764
This act restricted American colonies from printing their own money to be used as legal tender for debts of England. -
Quartering Act of 1765
In 1765, the Parliament passes the Quartering Act, outlining the locations and conditions in which British soldiers are to find room and board in the American colonies -
Stamp Act of 1765
It taxed newspapers, almanacs, pamphlets, broadsides, legal documents, dice, and playing cards. Issued by Britain, the stamps were affixed to documents or packages to show that the tax had been paid. -
Stamp Act Congress of 1765
It was attended by twenty-seven representatives from what has been known throughout American history as the thirteen colonies. When the British Parliament passed the Stamp Act, colonists were more than eager to show their displeasure towards it. -
Declaratory Act of 1766
The Parliament repealed the Sugar Act because boycotts were hurting British trade. -
Townshend Act of 1767
