    French and Indian War
    1. Fought between England and France. 2. Fought over control of North America territories. 3. The start of the war was a result of Indians led by George Washington killing a French officer

    1. Ended the French and Indian War. 2. England was determinded to be the vicot of this war. 3. France loses all of its North American claims. England claims all land west to the Mississippi River and North through Canda
  • Proclamation of 1763

    1. This prevented Colonies from moving West of the Appalahian Mountains. 2. Created to stabalize relations between the Native Americans and the British Empire. 3. This became the first problem between the colonist and "Mother" England. The Colonist didn't like being told what to do

    1. This was a tax on sugar and molasses. 2. This act wasa established as a way of creating revenue for the British Kingdom after the French and Indian War. 3. This incident increased the colonist's concernes about the intent of the British Parliament and helped the growing movement that became the American Revolution.

    1. This tax placed a tax on all paper goods including wills and newspapers. 2. The result of the act was protwsts and anger by may colonists. This led to a boycott of the stamped paper goods. 3. As a results of the boycott and anit-British sentimentin the Colonies. Parliment formally repeals the Stamp Act.

    1. This act was placed to say British money buy making the soliders still in other peoples homes. 2. The soliders could eat there food, sleep in there beds. 3.All of the colonist hated this act but little could be done or boycott the issue.

    The first shots starting the revolution were fired at Lexington, Massachusetts on April 18, 1775. No one knows were the first the first came from.
  • The Battle of Concord

    The second shot of the war was at the Battle of Concord. In this battle the British was outnumber by the colonist. Therefore the colonist won the war.

    On May 10, 1775, the Second Continental Congress was called into session as the British stormed Boston in an attempt to arrest the patriots that publicly against the crown. With the bloody fights at Concord and Lexington fresh in their minds, the delegates of twelve of the thirteen Colonies came together in Philadelphia to draw up a statement of positions in regards to the actions of the British Parliament.

    The Declartion was writen by Thomas Jefferson in the summer of 1776. This showed the rights we wanted. This document also contained the Bills of Rights
  • Battle of New York

    In 1776, the British set forth to subdue the colonies. They began the effort by getting New York back in their power. First, they drove Washington off Long Island. Washington retreated, he was able to hold off the British forces. The British, then again, outmanuevered Washington. Washington was forced to retreat to New Jersey.

    The Battle of Princeton took place on January 3, 1777. The British had left the town largely undefended. The Americans drove the British out of Princeton before Cornwallis had a chance to return to defend the city. As Cornwallis returned to the city, Washington decided it was best to evacuate Princeton and more his troops.

    After a long harsh winter at Valley Forge. George Washington lost most than half of his army in the cold harsh winter.

    This is the last battle of the revolution. General Cornwallis was surraround by land and sea. After beening forced in more by the colonist and France and Spain General Cornwallis surrendered.
