    The Great Migration

    The four first races split and moved across the great lands in century long voyages.
    We see the first use of horses in around the year 700 and a crude form of boats used to travel, however only along coasts for faster travel sea faring is not seen until the year 1200,

    Humanity Settles on the Shondu River

    This river, now dried up, was originally dubbed the river of life and should be credited for humanities fast evolution and early dominance. It allowed the settlers to easily set up agriculture and not have to lose lives hunting and foraging.

    The Kingdom of Jito

    The first kingdom, born on the banks of the Shondu its significance comes from its creation of writing and currency. They had a great focus on learning and creating allowing them to expand across the whole of the region without ever facing a conflict. Many other peoples that the kingdom encountered simply joined the civilization due to the better living conditions.
    This is the most significant early empire and created a cultural ripple effect that catapulted us into civility.

    On the fertile banks of the Shondu river the wheel is created one of the most significant inventions in all of history.

    The Reign of King Otanjobo

    The most significant king of Jito, he can be credited for his intellect and his philosophical writings, some of which can still be read today due to their preservation in the Otanjobo library.

    The Library of Otanjobo is created

    This library holds some of the first ever writing and held books like Jense Monogato.

    This king can be credited for helping with agricultural advancements like the wagon and plow.

    The battle of the Shondu and the fall of Jito

    Eventually the great kingdom had to come to an end, in 1043 a nomadic tribe of Goldmen called the Najezda came to Shondu and pillaged and killed the people of the Jito. Jito had no focus on military or battle and due to their early agricultural success they never had to hunt or face much strife so they had no way of defending themselves against the Goldmen who has developed powerful weapons.

    The First Seafarers Set Sail

    A group of Fonney in the far east create the first ships and set sail unto new lands.

    Tunnen and the Norselands

    The Rockonseventually settle in the vast Norselands and create the kingdom of Tunnen which thrives off of mining in the mountains. They have great advancements in architecture and build great cave cities. They also discover mithril and adamantine.

    Ralbainous and Adventine

    These two kingdoms both settle on the Shondu they utilise the technology left behind by the Jito, however they have a greater military focus. King Caqli of Adventine creates the concept of democracy and Adventine becomes the first republic. This causes political tension between Ralbainous and Adventine.

    After the fall of Jito other settlements and tribes begin to organize into kingdoms and city states.

    Underlach

    The seafarers in the far east settle and create an island kingdom based on trade. The people of Underlach discovered some of the earliest magic through sorcerers that began to appear.

    Hortensia

    Descendants of the Ivanzed tribe, these Goldmen pillage the entirety of the western continents and set up many connected settlements that thrive off of a slave trade with Ralbainous, Tunnen and the Alhakim. Ironically they also are some of the first to delve into the arcane. After creating the religion of Blood-Nazif priests harness some of the first Eldritch magic.

    Nox, Alhakim and the Qudhif

    Three prominent human tribes in the southern lands eventually formed kingdoms. Instead of using a monarchy the militaries would constantly have a control of the city and most internal labour would be left to slaves.

    Tunnen expansion and the reign of Stor Herre

    Under the king Stor Herre the kingdom of Tunnen begins to expand. The expansion is extremely successful and they manage to reach all the way to the great desserts. Stor Herre sets up trade routes with Nox and Alhakim.

    The Battle of Ekelhafter Fluss

    Stor Herre looks west to expand into Hortensia.
    At this time Hortensia was under the leader of King Reichord a great commander. Stor Herre underestimated the Hortensians and brought only a small portion of his army. They were ambushed at the river Ekelhafter Fluss and defeated, the Hortensian victory can be mainly credited to the use of Eldritch magic which the Tunnens had never seen before. This battle is significant due to it being the first Tunnen defeat.

    The Siege of Balla Gun

    Balla Gun was one of the greatest cities of the Tunnen empire.
    It was a walled city on a piece of land in the west disconnected from the rest of Tunnen. In retaliation for the invasion the Hortensians laid seige to Balla Gun. It lasted 4 months before the Hortensians were forced to retreat, it seemed that even the power of the arcane were not strong enough to fell the adamantine walls of Balla Gun.

    The Invasion of The Sutland

    Stor Herre sent a force of 70,000 men to invade the Sutland which was the agriculturally developed area of Southern Hortensia. The sheer army size of the Hunnen army completely outnumbered the Hortensian army which stood at most 30,000 men.
    The invasion became more of a massacre and only ended after the invasion of the Hortnensian secondary capital, Blockiurt, where a peace treaty was signed.

    The Slave Treaty

    At the end of the war Hortensia was forced to sign the Slave Treaty which meant that Hortensia had to give half of its slaves to Tunnen, allow Tunnen to keep the Sutland and a puppet city state was to be set up in the capital of Hortnesia. In summary Hortensia was now basically internally controlled by Tunnen.

    The Yeosian Revolt

    Yeosia was a city state east of Adventine which had been included into the empire by violent means. A man named Apomisi fired up a revolt in Yeosia and took back the city however the Hunnen army quickly quelled the revolt and every rebel was burnt at the stake.

    The death of Stor Herre

    It is not officially recorded how Stor Herre died, however it could be assumed that he was assassinated by the leader of the Yeosian revolt.
    At this point the Tunnen Empire was almost 5 times greater than the Jito Kingdom.

    The Forming of the Oligarkia

    After the death of Stor Herre the governors and nobles did not know how to continue as there was no clear air and the empire was already in an unstable political state. Eventually it was decided that the leader of each of the five ruling families would make up the ruling party. If a family ran out of heirs then another royal family would take its place. Although initially this worked it soon led to a lot of political rivalry.

    Golden Age of the Oligarkia

    In this period of the Tunnen empire it was at its political peak. The empire, in this period, had great relationships with the southern nations, Alhakim and Nox, whilst also `developing a lot scientifically. Developments like central heating, aqueducts, canals, medicine and the water wheel. Tunnen also took up the religion of Blood-Nazif in the late 1100s which acted as almost a cultural revolution. Many social developments also took place like a uniform police and justice system.

    Underlarchian Civil War

    Between the two leader brothers of the kingdom there was a great argument about the use of magic. Tematico believed that magic could be used to develop the kingdoms of the east whilst Portentoso believed it was heresy and went against tradition. Those who accepted magic were named the Elves whilst the traditionalists kept the name of the Fonney. Eventually Tematico defeated the Fonney with the aid of the Ralbainous who believed that they could also use magic to gain full control of the Shondu.

    The Kingdom of Donven

    After the end of the civil war the Elves decided to change the name of the kingdom to Donven. This name had a lot of Ralbainous influence as the Elves had become extremely strong allies with them. The use of magic also allowed king Piedoso to take over a lot of the eastern continent and enter a sort of arcane revolution where magic became more and more prominent in Elven culture.

    The Shonduasian Wars

    These were the many conflicts fought between Adventine, Ralbainous and the many other kingdoms and city states across the massive continent spanning Shondu. The kingdoms were mainly split between those who believed in democracy and those that believed in monarchy. There was no clear victor out of these wars, however there were heavy casualties and eventually the Peyman pact was signed which was a 200 year peace treaty across all states across the river.

    Hubi Ghabia

    A man named Hubi from the village of Makan Almilad in Alhakim claimed to see a vision and he created the religion of Hubi Ghabia which was very focused on finding enlightenment in humility. It spread all across the south reaching Nox and even southern parts of Tunnen.

    The Rimskiy of Blood-Nazif

    In the city of Blockiurt the first Rimskiy is born. The Rimskiy was originally not a king but a messenger from god. in Blood-Nazif. He would be revered as highly as the king of Hortensia and when Blood-Nazif entered Tunnen politics the Rimskiy would become basically a member of the Oligarkia.

    The Dragonian Event

    This was one of the first times in which dragons became commonly seen. They first appeared in areas of Donven, possibly allured by the growth of magic, and then spread to areas of the Sh.ondu and western colonies of Tunnen. Surprisingly they were welcomed as they were seen more of simple wildlife than the intelligent creatures that they are. With them, however came the Aaracokra and the Dragonborn from the far west who were not nearly as well welcomed.

    The Matar

    These were the Tunnen sponsored mass killings of the Aaracokra and the Dragonborn. It is one of the most horrific events in all of our history and overall 3 million of the western races were slaughtered. They were hunted and murdered until, on the 14th of May 1298 the Neo-Fhèin was signed which allowed the existence of the western races as long as they stayed to the far west. It is suspected that the Dragonborn managed to attack the Oligarkia and threaten them into signing the treaty.

    In this period greed, political and religious rivalry led to the slow death of one of the greatest empires in all of history.

    Lord Amadan of the Oligarkia

    Lord Amadan can be credited for the failure of the Oligarkia and eventually the end of the Tunnen Empire. He was the last of the Saoghal house and was frightened that his house would loose the place in the Oligarkia after his death, in response he pushed for a change in the rules of the Oligarkia so that his house would become the leading party. He held a vote where the rest of the senate were threatened into supporting the motion.

    The War on the Shondu Kingdoms

    It can be argued that Amadan's first blunder was the declaration of war against their own ally, Adventine.

    After the Shondasian wars relations between Ralbainous and Adventine had improved significantly so Ralbainous decided to aid Adventine against the Tunnen.
    The people of the Shondu were completely outnumbered however they believed with the assistance of Donven magic they had a chance against Tunnen.

    The Battle of Ptarme

    This was the legendary battle of the Ptarme river at the entrance to Adventine. It is told that 300 Ralbainous soldiers held off the Tunnen army of 110,000 for 3 days straight. The numbers may have been exaggerated but it is, nonetheless, an incredible feat.

    The Battle of Enédra

    This was a battle of insane scale with over 500,000 Tunnen soldiers and around 400,000 Adventine, Ralbainous and Elven soldiers. It took place on the plains of Enedra and ended in Adventinian victory. The use of Elven magic really aided the people of the Shondu as, at this point up to 6th level spells had been discovered. After the end of this battle Amadan decided to retreat his army for good.

    The Hubi-Ghabia Massacres

    The new Oligarkia viewed the Hubi and all of the south for that matter as a threat to Blood-Nazif. Because of this the Hunnen army moved south and caused one of the most horrific religious massacres of the century.

    The Burning of the Poileataigs Building

    The Poileataigs Building was the building in which all political decisions made by the Oligarkia. A group of traditionalist rebels raided and set fire to the building. Although the motive is unknown it is suspected that they were Hubi-Ghabia warriors taking revenge for the massacre.

    The Sodgia-Bactrian Migration

    The people of Sodgia-Bactria were freed slaves in Hestensia. To escape further persecution they fled to the far west to join the Aaracokra.
  • Period: 1350 to 1365

    The Maroon Uprisings

    The slaves of Nox and Alkahim decided to fight back against their masters. Escaped slaves dubbed themselves the Maroons.
    The Maroons helped free more and more slaves but eventually they were defeated due to a traitor spilling the plans to the government.

    The Completion of the Nox Pyramids

    The century long project to create the pyramids to harness even deeper depths of the arcane were finally complete. They were built off of slave labour, however their beauty cannot be denied.

    The Building of Tearmann

    Perhaps the only positive aspect of the late Oligarkian Tunnen, it was a beautiful city built in Yeosia to act as a secondary capital for the empire. It had a very strategic location, being on the Arketá coast and succeeded from great trade routes with Donven and Adventine.

    The Reign of King Pushtues

    King Pushtues was one of the greatest generals in Ralbain history.
    He is infamous for his invasion of Tunnen and his forging of one of the greatest empires ever.

    The Great Drought

    For an unknown reason there was a sudden heatwave that hit the Shondu region, drying the river. This was detrimental to the kingdoms of the Shondu, especially Ralbainous who fully relied on the river for food and water. This would force king Pushtues to find new land, and so he looked towards the great empire of Tunnen.

    The Tunnen Conquest

    This 15 year conquest, led by Pushtues was a masterful strategic invasion which utilized the strengths of Elven magic along with Ralbainous land strength to easily take over the massive Tunnen empire.

    The Fall of Tunnen and the Creation of Blood

    The Tunnen were eventually pushed back into Tearmann. The Tunnen empire became the holy country of Blood-Nazif and called itself the Blood Kingdom.
    The 2nd largest Empire in all of History had finally fallen. We must never forget the cultural and scientific significance of Tunnen and its affects on our current era.
    Shortly after the conquest Pushtues died of disease and with no clear heir the empire fell into absolute chaos with hundreds of kings and nobles taking part in a 500 year war.

    The Era of Chaos

    After the destruction of the Tunnen empire the world was left in an era of chaos, characterized by constant warfare and barbarism.
    There were thousands of deaths and invasions, however no kingdom came on top until the great Ralbain empire was formed in the 1950s.
  • 1567

    The Founding of Gunpowder

    When invading Yeosia the Ralbainous people found gunpowder when raiding the gold mines of the mountain villages.
    This allowed an early dominance by the Ralbainous as they created cannons and early muskets.
  • The Ghabian Crusades

    The Hubi-Ghabians of Alhakim thought it a necessity to spread the religion to the western Hortensians. They conducted 3 failed invasions towards the Blood-Nazifs.
    The failures can be credited to the Elven support of the Hortensians.
  • The Northern Tribes

    The Gauls, Vandals and Vagraboths were the Tribes of barbarians from that roamed at the birthplace of the Tunnen empire, they began to move south and engaged in many conflicts with the Adventinians, Ithikans and Argons.
  • The Revolution of the Tueur

    The Tueur were a group of rebels in Nox who believed Nox should have full control over the south and did not like the peaceful nature of the current government.
    They took over the country and placed the Rois as the dictator of the kingdom.

    The Conquests of the Rois

    The Rois is infamous for his invasions in the era of chaos. He almost unified the warring kingdoms but his great blunder ended his 50 year campaign. This is a list of his conquests:

  • The Blunder of Rois

    Rois' greatest blunder came from his desire to reach the edge of the world. He pushed further and further into the vast Norselands where his army eventually starved and died in the great, cold expanses.
    His empire quickly collapsed and the chaos continued.
  • The Calcite Army

    A group of supernatural litches suddenly appeared in eastern Hestonasia and formed an army.
    The people of the kingdoms had no idea how to fight these Litches and they seemed unkillable.
    They massacred all life they could find and left cities empty in their wake. Led by a litch named Pablo Santiago they reached all the way to Ralbainous.
    They were called the calcite army because of their white army and ghostly appearance.
  • The Defeat of the Calcite Army

    Once they had reached Ralbainous king Zgjuar realised there was only one way to save his kingdom from a massacre.
    He asked for aid from the far west. He knew that a chance to defeat them lay in the Dragonborn and Aaracockra. He said that if they aided in the war than their banishment would finally end.
    They arrived along with the Sodgio-Bactrians who had become a separate people now.
    With this aid king Zgjuar managed to defeat the Calcite army.
    This was the greatest war fought in the pre era.
  • Pablo Santiago

    Pablo, instead of being executed was spared as Zgjuar believed that they could learn about the undead from him so he was placed as a noble.
    This was extremely controversial at the time, however he is now one of the most patriotic and prominent members of Ralbain government.
  • Ralbain

    This is the final entry of this story-
    Soon after the Calcite wars Zgjuar united the weakened peoples of the surrounding kingdoms and began an empire that would live on to be the largest empire in all of history, the Ralbain Empire.
    The world, after these events would enter a colonial era where art and science would regain their prominence and the world enter a golden age under the rule of the great Ralbain empire.
