North Korea invades South Korea and the U.N. helps the South. The war lasts for 3 years and to this day North Korea is still communist. A victory is unknown because the North is still communist, but we contained the communism and pushed the border North just a bit.

The Vietnam War started because of Vietnam splitting. The North and the Vietcong eventually ended up taking over the capital of Vietnam after 20 years. Vietnam today is still communist.

The D`etente was a general easing of tensions between the US and China, and also the US and the USSR.
