Jan 16, 1831 Turner was sold to Joseph Travis, who he would initially kill during his revolt. Feb 25, 1831 Turner took a solar eclipse as a sign to stand up for slaves, which was the basis of his revolt. Aug 21, 1831 Turner and his goup of 40 to 50 men, killed about 55 white men, women, and children in the revolt against white slave owners. Oct 30, 1831 After the revolt, Turner hid in the woods for 30 days before being captured and initally hung. Nov 11, 1831 Worst Day Ever Feb 13, 1832 A known abolitionist, William Llyod Garrison, wrote a newspaper article titled "The Liberator" supporting Turner's actions. Feb 20, 1832 Turner's actions notified many people on the abolitionist movement in the north. Oct 23, 1967 Turner was the basis of William Styron's 1967 Pulitzer Prize winning book "The Confessions Of Nat Turner"
