A Larva is a baby caterpillar that grows into an adult caterpillar over the span of 14 days. It will shead its skin 5 different times during this growth period.

This is the third stage known as the pupa. This is when the caterpillar will form the cocoon. It will begin hanging from a tree branch in a J shape and develop the cocoon over a period of 12 hours. After two weeks the caterpillar will become an adult butterfly.

This is the fourth and final stage where the cocoon becomes the butterfly. After this stage, the lifecycle starts all over again.
