On the 10th of November 1483, Martin Luther was born in Eisleben, Germany to Hans Luther (Father) and Margarethe Luther (Mother).

On the 2nd of July 1505 Luther was caught up in violent thunderstorm. He swore that if God saved him from the storm he would become a monk. He claimed;
"Help! Saint Anna, I will become a monk!" -
On the 17 of July Luther joined a monastery in Erfurt, he became an Augustinian monk.

In 1507, (the day and month are unknown) Martin Luther ordained priesthood, after being encourgaed by Johann von Staupitz, to further his career.

In 1508 (Day and Month are unknown) Martin Luther began teaching theology at the University of Wittenberg.

On the 31st of October 1517, Martin Luther wrote a letter to Albert of Mainz, this later became known as the 95 thesis.

On the 31st of October 1517 Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the church door.

In 1518 (the day and month are unknown) the 95 Theses were translated into German, the common language. They were then widely spread thanks to the printing press.

On the 15th June 1520 Pope Leo X ordered Martin Luther to recant his writtings or face excommunitcation. He refused to do so.

Martin Luther was excommunicated on the 3rd January 1521.

On the 18th April 1521, here he refused to recant his writtings.

On the 25th of May 1521 Luther was declared an outlaw, his writtings were banned and he was to be arrested.

While Luther was returning home, Fedrick the Wise, kidnapped him and held him at Wartburg Castle.

While Luther was at Wartburg Castle he translated the bible into the common language, German.

Martin Luther returned to Wittenberg, he was horrified to say what had happend to his cause.

On the evening of the 13th June 1525 Luther married Katharina von Bora an ex nun.

Martin Luther died on the 18th February 1546 of natural causes.
