    The Xerox Alto was created by a soon-to-be microsoft employee by the name of Nichalous Wirth. It went through many changes in names and functions such as: Xerox 8010, PARCS Alto and more.

    This mouse, manufactured in Germany, was not given a name by the designer but was rather given a a title "SOCKET MOUSE" this mouse had a small ball on the top and was able to hold up to 5 Axis or all 90 degrees of freedom.

    Developed by Rene Sommer, this mechanical mouse relocated its internall parts making it smaller and put the ball on the underside and rolled along a flat surface like most mice today.

    These Gyroscopic mice use laser or lines that bounce back and forth off of a surface to determine movement and location, they were first concepted with small bulbs rather than LEDs and are the standard issue mice for today.
