What Should We Do? The United States Fight Against Terrorism

  • Los Angeles Times Bombing

    Los Angeles Times Bombing
Dynamite had been brought into the building By James and John McNamara. They were successful in blowing the building, and they also killed 21 people. Most of the events on the timeline have had to do with blowing up buildings, this is a theme that has resulted in many deaths and many buildings being blown up.
  • Violence on Wall Street

    Violence on Wall Street
A loaded cart of dynamite was dropped off in front of the J.P. Morgan building by an anonymous man. The Boston Marathon Bombing in 2013 was much like this because both events involved a package of bombs being dropped off and left alone to blow and kill people. People were killed in both of these terrorist attacks.
  • Sterling Hall Bombing

    Sterling Hall Bombing
4 young men loaded a van with bombs and parked it outside of the University of Wisconsin Campus. Later, the bomb went off and destroyed the building. This event was different because unlike all the other attacks, this one involved young men.
  • Oklahoma City Bombing

    Oklahoma City Bombing
A van full of explosives was parked outside of the Alfred Murrah building in downtown Oklahoma City. The explosives obliterated the building and killed 169 people. In the Sterling Hall Bombing, a van packed with explosives was also parked outside of the building. The bombs went off killing 1 person and the building was also destroyed from the bomb. Video:

  • Centennial Olympic Park Bombing

    Centennial Olympic Park Bombing
This was a terrorist bomb attack that occurred at Centennial Olympic Park during the time of the Olympics in Atlanta. This event relates to The Los Angeles Times Bombing, The Sterling Hall Bombing, The Boston Marathon Bombing, and The Violence on Wall Street because these events include a bunch of explosives being dropped off and left alone somewhere. Then, the bombs proceed to blow up and either kill people or destroy its surroundings.
  • September 11th Attacks

    September 11th Attacks
These attacks were yet another Al Qaeda terrorist attack attempt, but this time, the attacks were successful. This attack was much like the terrorist attack attempt by Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, in 2003. While Ahmed was in America, he planned to hijack planes and provide support for Al Qaeda. Video:

  • Ahmed Omar Abu Ali

    Ahmed Omar Abu Ali
Ahmed Omar Abu Ali planned to assassinate President George W. bush and hijack airplanes in America. Hijacking airplanes seemed to be a popular event in this timeline, but most of them were unsuccessful attacks, except for the attacks on 9/11. Since 9/11, there haven't been any successful hijacked airplanes in the United States.
  • Liquid Explosives Plot

    Liquid Explosives Plot
British Police stopped 10 liquid explosive filled commercial airline planes that were making their way to the United States. Most of the terrorists that were planned, didn't end up happening. In 2003, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali planned to assassinate George W. Bush and hijack airplanes. His attacks ended up never happening, much like this planned attack.
  • Boston Marathon Bombing

    Boston Marathon Bombing
The Boston Marathon Bombing was a terrorist attack where two bombs exploded near the finish line of the race. The bombs were placed in a trashcan, and later they had blown up and killed 3 people. At the Atlanta Olympics in 1995, a man named Eric Rudolph had dropped a bag full of explosives under a bench in the park. The bomb went off 30 minutes later and killed 1 person. Video:

  • San Bernardino Shooting

    San Bernardino Shooting
A shooting broke out at a Holiday Party inside of a Regional center in San Bernardino, California. Most of the events had a theme of some sort of bombing on my timeline, but this event had to do with shooting guns. This shows that terrorists don't usually choose guns as a way to kill people, instead they use bombs.
  • Orlando Nightclub Shooting

    Orlando Nightclub Shooting
A gunman named Omar Mateen entered a gay Nightclub in Orlando early Sunday Morning and opened fired at people in the club. I related this to San Bernardino because both events involved open fire on innocent people. A total of 50 people were killed, this makes this event the worst terrorist attack in America since 9/11.
