    Music was used in Ancient Greece for connecting with the gods, making the world more civilised, religious festivals, weddings, marriages, funerals, banquets, rowers for keeping in time, expressions of mathematics and reflection of the cosmos and human soul.

    Songs of the Wandering Minstrels

    Troubadours and jokers replaced minstrels in the court.
    Their music included rude jokes and humour in the performances and they travelled in groups. They played in town squares and public places.
    The wandering minstrels were a very low class.

    Operetta is also called ight opera.
    Offenbach opened his theatre in 1855.

    Popera is a blend of pop music and opera music.
    The tempo of most Popera music is not too fast or too slow.
    Popera music builds up in a piece as it is a mix of opera, pop and classical music.

    Elvis Presley is often refferred to as the King of Rock and Roll.

    The general format of a pop song is short to medium length, written in a verse-chorus structure and usually has repeated choruses, melodic tunes and hooks.
    5 people that have been influential in the Pop music industry are The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Elton John and Michael Jackson.
    Pop music is significant in history as many people, ranging through all age ranges and cultures, can relate to it because of the simple and universal feelings shown through the songs.
