    Hernando de Soto explores Georgia

    Hernendo de Soto explored Georgia by permission of King Charles.
    Hernando de Soto was easily able to get most of what it needed because the Native Americans were scared of their dogs and horses.
    de Soto and his crew also brought small pox and black plague to the New World.
    de Soto mainly wanted gold.
    de Soto also brought pigs, for protection from reptiles.

    Spanish Missions on Barrier islands

    Missions were esatlished on Cumberland Island and St. Catherine's Island.
    The Missions usually consisted of converting the Native Americans to Catholicism.
    The NAtive Americans used the Missions as a way to integrate themselves into the European World.
