Anglo-saxon/Old english is the language spoken from 450-1066. The British Isles were invaited by people from Germany and Denmark, and they were the people who spoke the langauge and invented new words as: cow, house, bread and sword, About one third of the words we know and use today come from Old english.

This period is from 1066-1476 and it was in this period the invasions finally stopped! English took over from French. The common people still spoke the Old english, but the English king spoke and his elite spoke french. The shift from Old english to Middel english was a slow process. (Books were published!)

In this period they didn't know how to write and print correctly, because there were neither dictionaries nor grammar books. But later unknown parts of the world were explored which created changes in the language. At the end the english language were finally arisen.
