In 1910 Fred Osius, L.H. Hamilton and Chester Beach started the Hamilton Beach Manufacturing Co.
Many blenders into the 1920's looked very similar.
The motor stood on a separate iron stand and was usually adjustable. This company later invented the "Triple Milkshake Blender". -
In 1922, Stephen Poplawski, from Racine, Wisconsin was the first to invent what is now sought of as a blender. He attached a spinning blade at the bottom of a container, which he used to make soda fountain drinks.
Waring, from the band, Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians, promoted these blenders to bartenders, for whipping frozen drinks. -
In 1933, Fred Osius invented and patented the Miracle Mixer, By September 1937; he had a working model which the put on display at the National Restaurant Show in Chicago. The price was $29.75.
Waring helped fund this projects development, so that he could puree raw vegetables for his ulcer diet. -
By World War II and into the 1950’s, a new mixer, which was mounted on a stand and had a bowl underneath, was replacing the glass-bottomed design. This new style had a more powerful motor and two gear-driven beaters.

Among popular mixer companies were: Vidrio Products, Chicago Electric and Knapp Monarch.
In 1954 the millionth Waring Blendor was sold and they are still popular today.
