    The not yet famous band “The New York Dolls” were formed. They were known for their outrageous performances located at the heart of New York and were often see wearing women’s makeup and clothing. They inspired many of the world-famous bands such as The Rolling Stones, The Stooges, etc.

    New York club, CBGB, opened and became the go-to place for punk bands and to become recognizable. It aided in rebellions, loud and aggressive nature, and strong political standpoints.

This movement began to change and may icons began to oppose their political views such as anarchism, liberalism, and embraced conservatives. It was almost like a betrayal.

The oppression of black people was less of a concern especially due to the presidency of Ronal Reagan. Later, it came to challenging racism and sexism that became the message of punk rock music.
