A plane flies over the community and they say he was lost. The community says that the pilot is going to get released. Jonas was very confused abou this, a plane never plies over their community. -
Jonas see's an apple change
Jonas is playing catch with an apple with Asher and see's it change. He stares at the apple seeing if it wo\ill do it again, but he doesn't. He adventually brings it home but then get's in trouble. -
Gabe almost get's released
A baby Gabe almosts gets released but Jonas' dad stops it form happening. -
Jonas get's selected to be the receiver
Everyone get's assigned to jobs but Jonas get's skipped to the last to be anounced as the receiver. Everyone is in shock and Jonas seems very worried. The announcer mentions that he will be in some pain during his work and he won't be able to be with his parents or friends after his training is complete. Jonas is probaly very rightened. -
Jonas see's the audiences faces change
After being selected to being the next resiever, Jonas see's the audiences faces change like the apple did. Jonas does not understand what is going on. -
Jonas get's his rules
Jonas get's a list of rules and they are very short. Everyone elses are long but he has 8 saying that he can be rude and lie which he definately could not be before he got selected. He also figyres out he cna't apply for any medication involving his work with the giver -
Jonas meets the giver
Jonas goes to the anex and meets the giver in his office. The annex has a lot of books which he and everyone else only know about a few books like dictionaries. The giver is very old looking and he says he's not as old as he looks, Jonas is probably confused about this stateent. -
Jonas gets his first memory
The giver puts his hand on Jonas' back and gived him the memory of a sled and going down hill. Jonas is very happy aout this memory. -
Jonas figures out about colours
The giver tells Jonas that the chanes he's been seeing is the colour red. And he figures out, there are a lot more colours too. -
Jonas tries to make asher see the colour red
Jonas puts his hands on Asher's shoulders and tries to make him see red on the tulips but it doesn't work -
Jonas get's all the colours
The giver give Jonas the memory of a rainbow and now he knows all the colours and he starts to see them more in the community. -
Jonas sees the red colour of blood
Jonas is given a memory where there are men and they shoot the elephant for it'a tusks and Jonas sees it's blood and figures out what colour lesh is and death -
Jonas get's the memory of breaking a leg
Jonas goes back on a sled and loses controll and then falls off and breaks his leg but he can't get medication -
Jonas gives a memory to gabe
Jonas had Gabe in his room at night to take care of and in the middle of th night Gabe started crying, Jonas woke up and picked up gabe to calm him down. Jonas thought about one of his memories of a boat sailing on water and before he knew it he was transfering the memory to Gabe. His memory of the boat starting fading away and all the colours went dull. Jonas was probably feeling frightned on his actions. -
Jonas get's the memory of death and war
Jonas appears in a broken down place with fires and tore down buildings. He looks around and get's frightened by the fact that men were on the ground moaning in pain or some staying still. A little boy about the age of himself was asking Jonas for something. Jpnas made out that he needed water, many of the other men were calling out water as well. Jonas let the boy lay down and Jonas gave the boy some water. The boy's expression faded and his jaw dropped and his head rilred back. -
Jonas realizes the games his friends play is about
Jonas see's his friends playing a shooting game and Jonas realizes that the game is based on war and death. Jonas remembers the pain the memory brought him and he starts crying in the middle of the game and his friends leave but only Asher and Fiona stay. -
Jonas get's the memory of love and Christmas and grandparents
Jona get's a memory where the giver is at his house at Christmas time and love with his family and his granparents there. then jonas asks his parents if they love him and they saythat "love" isn't an apropriate word to use. -
The giver tells Jonas abou the failed receiver Rosemary
The Giver tells Jonas about the last reasiver Rosemary. Rpsemary was aplied to get released. -
Jonas watches the twin baby get released
Jonas watches the recording of his dad releasing a twin baby. As he watches he relizes that when you get released, they kill you. -
The giver and Jonas make a plan
Jonas and the Giver make a plan to run away from the community and release the memories to the people in the community. -
Gabe is going to get released
Jonas' dad announces that Gabe will get released. Jonas will not let this happen. He knows what released actually is and he has a connection with Gabe and won't let him get released. -

Jonas is going to run away for his plan. He takes Gabe with him so he wont get released -
