    On August 3, 1492 Christopher Columbus started for the East Indies then on October 12, 1492 Columbus surprisingly arrives in America.
  • Jamestown

    Jamestown
    Jamestown was found on May 14th 1607 by a London Company. It was one of the first successful settlements in North America. Within a year of the foundation, the Virginia Company brought Polish and Dutch settlers to help improve the settlement.

    The Massachusetts Bay Colony was founded by the Massachusetts Bay Company it is located on the east coast of North Amaerica.
  • New Amsterdam becomes New York

    New Amsterdam becomes New York
    In 1609 Henry Hudson explored the eastern part of New york he claimed it and called it New Amsterdam because he was from the Netherlands. Then on September 8th 1664 New Amsterdam passed to english control so they changed the name to New York in honor of the kings brother Duke of York
  • George Washington attacks Fort Duquesne

    George Washington attacks Fort Duquesne
    In 1754 VIrginia sent reinforcements to the Forks of Ohio to protect the fort they were building from the French, but the French were already there and they had renamed it Fort Duquesne. George Washington fired a shot at a camp outside of the fort and that started the French and Indian War.
  • Albany Congress meets

    The meeting held in Albany was attended by native leaders, colonial officials and represenitives from seven coloies in the spring of 1754. They focused on keeping the iroquis happy and coming up with a plan to keep the French from taking over the Ohio valley.
  • The French and Indian war concludes

    The French are defeated in Quebec. Then the Treaty of Paris is signed and that ends the war.
