    The Yalta Conference was held in February of 1945. It included government leaders from the United States, United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union for a discussion of how to handle the reorganization of Europe after World War II.

    FDR died shortly after the Yalta Conference that was held in February of the same year. Although the conference was seen as a success at first, when Harry S Truman took Roosevelt's place, the United States' tension with the Soviet Union increased due to how they influenced Eastern Europe and the United Nations.

    The Potsdam Conference was held from July 17 to August 2, 1945. It was the meeting that the Big Three established the repercutions of Nazi Germany and the finalizations of peace treaties and the post war world.

    Once Fidel Castro was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Cuba, he established Cuba as a Communist state expanding it to the South.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was a time when the US Navy was blockading Cuba from the Soviet Union. As a response to the Bay of Pigs and our missiles in Italy at our disposal, Cuba requested that the Soviet Union allow them to build missiles in order to stop the harassment from the US. After negociating the blockade ended 12 days later.

    For the first time since the Warsaw Pact was signed, the first country to break free from Communism was Poland. This started a trend, eventually leading to the end of the Cold War.
