President Truman gets thrown into the role of president after a short 79 days of being vice president. This was because president FDR died, forcing Truman to step up and take over the presidency. -

Truman may have done a lot of wrong things, but one correct thing he did was end world war II -
Hiroshima and Nagasaki
President Truman decides to use atomic warfare on Japan in order to get them to leave the war. He allows the USAAF to drop “little boy” and “Fat Man” On Hiroshima and Nagasaki, thus devastating the area for years to come. To this day, people can’t live their without getting radiation poisoning, crops can’t grow there, animals who live there aren’t fit to be eaten etc. What was once a prosperous region became a deserted area with no hope and will be so for years to come. -
Cease-Fire!!!
President Eisenhower oversaw the cease-fire of the Korean War -
Vietnam war
The Vietnam war starrts in 1955. Presiden Jonnson comes along and increases the troop committment to Vietnam, and escalates the war. -
Interstate system
President Eisenhower, began the Interstate Highway System. He wanted U.S. Troops to be able to travel to any location in the country at safe rate of 70 mph. -
Bay of Pigs
President Eisenhower let 3 months before his “Bay of Pigs” plan could actually occur. President John F Kennedy ended up having this scheme fall into his lap, and didn’t like it. He still allowed it to happen, but it failed just as he predicted. The CIA disappointed the entire nation and the United States was humiliated- for the first time in quite some time, we looked weak and unorganized. Since then, the USSR didn’t take JFK or America too seriously and sorely underestimated us. -
