     The French and Indian War
    from 1754 to 1763, Britain defeated the France and became the most important power in north america which ended and started the American Revolution.

    In the 1760's many acts dealing with taxes were passed; like the the Sugar Act, the Stamp Act (1765), and the Quartering Act.

    In 1767, This act required Americans to pay taxes on imported goods. The colonists protested,“no taxation without representation.” The colonists protested at the famous Boston Tea Party
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty boarded three ships in the Boston harbor and threw tea overboard. This resulted in the two sides closer to war.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

     Battles of Lexington and Concord
    Britain declared the colony of Massachusetts to be in rebellion against Britain. This declaration gave British soldiers the right to shoot colonists, the British ordered their troops to capture Boston, to control the rebels, and to arrest their leaders. The American Revolution was under way.

    -1781: British surrendered their forces at Yorktown; war was soon over.
    -1783: Americans and the British signed the Treaty of Paris, which ended the war!
