    The wall was demolished and Communist East Germans were able to travel to the West of Germany. The wall was meant to be used as a barrier between East and West Germany. With the wall getting demolished new problems arose as a result.

    Croatia and Slovenia declared independence from Yugoslavia. Slovenia took the proper way out with no violence needed. Yugoslavia however took a different turn and started a war with Croatia that would create decades of conflict between the countries and the slow break down of Yugoslavia itself. This is important because two countries got the independance they wanted and the downfall of a country they have problems with.

    In 1997, the US and Liechtenstein agreed to establish diplomatic relations that involve the same concepts on human rights, equal rights to all people of their countries, etc. They may not really help each other out with developmental assistance, but the important thing is that the countries are getting along rather than fighting and starting not needed wars, and all that nonsense.

    Swiss banks agreed to a $1.25 billion compensation with Holocaust survivors and their families. This was a deal that helped settle a lawsuit saying that the banks failed to return the funds and compensation that they were trying to hide from both the 18,000 Holocaust survivors and the United States until it was revealed and brought upon so that the Jews could get what they deserved. This is important due to how the survivors finally have closure on that fatal incident.

    Monaco and its economy is supported by a principality other wise known as the Monte-Carlo Grand Prix. Seeing as how their economys GDP shot up 6.6% in 2011, it is safe to say that Monaco is doing very well, more well than its surrounding countries and even countries that have no affiliation with it(United States). This is important due to how they werent doing so well before and are now marking a turning point that will send them forward.
