CREEK WAS DRY BY BOATHOUSE
on a fine autum morning,fifteen people walked the zigzag path from Te Wairoa village to Lake Tarawera. They were on their way to see the pink and white terraces at nearby lake Rotomahana.
Then they saw that the creek beside the boathouse was completly DRY!!!!!!!! -
The 10th june 1886 earthquake
Just after midnight,Earthquakes began to rattle the region. The top of mount Tarawera cracked open,sending red-hot rocks and ash into the sky. Lava bombs rained down on Te Wairoa. -
STUDY
It's almost 125 years after Mount Tarawera erupted. A small group of scientists from the GNS science stands in the rain at the edge of Lake Rotomahana.
Then two yellow veichles named Darter and Gudegeon, are kauched into the lake,The drive them selfs to a sst location and dives into the depths,these machines are AUVS (Autonomous underwater vechiles). Their speed direction and depth are tracked by computors. Their job is to map the lake floor.
