Charles Pinckney proposes several rights to be guarenteed in the consituion

on theis day Pinckney proposed to the counsel that a "bill of rights" had to be added to protact the people. his proposal however was denied.

in this cases the courts decided on the right of an attorney to be paid "on behave of the public"

Ake vs. Oklahoma

Jan 1, 1985

decided the state is to provide and pay for proffecinal assistance to help represnt defendent in order for a fair trial.
