1965 , Pope Paul VI placed the Congregation of the Missionaries of Charity under the control of the Papacy and authorized Mother Teresa to expand the religious order in other countries. Around worldwide centers were opened to serve lepers , the elderly , blind and people with AIDS and schools and orphanages for poor and abandoned children were founded.
