    PHONES

In the early 1960s push button phones were introduced in place of rotary style phones. In the late 1960s, 2 more push buttons were added to phones which included the # and * keys. When going to transfer a call to another department/employee, they used a bakelite lever which would switch the line to another extension. This improved communication between companies because as time went on more and more companies adapted to this quicker form of communicating.
