In late 1999, USB Flash Drives were introduced, and quickly improved upon for public use in early 2000. It is very difficult to pinpoint the exact inventor of the technology, as many different people and companies added their own spin to the aspect of a portable digital storage device - and all with nearly identical ideas (but with different names!). At their primitive start, they contained the capacity of just a few megabytes, where modern USB Flash Drives can contain hundreds of gigabytes!
