    Film splicing is a way of editing the film strips. Pieces of film would be cut changing the structure, it is similar to todays technology. For example Final Cut uses a cutting tool to cut a piece of clip and adding it somewhere else or removing it completely.

    This is a machine for use of an editior to view their film production. It was invented by Iwan Serrurier. This allowed editiors to edit their films precisely with minimum mistakes.
  • Linear Editing

    Linear Editing is the processing in a straight line. This includes the filming production, cam-corders are usually involved with this technique. They are used for mainly videos such as family events, vacation events etc.
    The editing would be done in a straight line.
  • Reel to Reel (Linear)

    This was an original method for editing electronic video tapes before compuers were introduced in the 90's. This devide selectively copied film from one tape to another and requird at least two video machines to be connected, one being the source and the other as the recorder.

    It all began with the advent of AVID in 1992 and people still use it tdoay however the first digital equipment for editing was made in 1971.
  • Tv/Video Editing

    This is a method which is most modern and applied to todays editing methods. People use programs such as final cut pro to cut and add effects to the video shown. People also have the ability to take segments of different parts of the sequence and add it to wherever they would like it to be with added audio such as voice overs and soundtracks.
