    LAN Operating Systems
    Novell releases an OS for computers to begin functions, in a local setting, to begin emailing and connecting printers in the local area. This tech will eventually be phased out by protocols in the '90s.
  • 3-1/2in Floppy Disk Drive

    3-1/2in Floppy Disk Drive
    Hewlett-Packard released the 1st model for this kind of storage for general use. Floppy storage would pave the way eventually for things like external hard drives, USB's, etc.
  • CD-ROM

    CD-ROM
    CD's for music was introduced in 1981, but CD-ROMs were introduced in 1984. Essentially a CD-ROM, read only memory, is for data and multi-media vice music. This will eventually lead things like video games away from a cartridge device to a CD.
  • Pixar

    Pixar
    Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, would purchase a special effects group from Lucasfilms for 10 million dollars and have them renamed to who we know now as Pixar. From when they were founded back in 1979, till after Disney bought them in 2006, they have successfully produced computer animated movies. Their software and engineering has always been well reveered.

    This portable, handheld gaming device functioned with removable gaming cartridges. Users would play on a small black and white screen, but eventually will turn into things such as the gameboy color, gameboy advanced, nintendo DS, nintendo switch.
