French and Indian War
The French and Indian War caused the British to tax the colonies. The British also won the land of the colonies but lost a lot of money. This was named the French and Indian war because the Native Americnas' were allies with the french. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 settlers couldn’t go west of the Appalachian Mountains because their resources would spread too thin, they did this for protection but they were losing their freedom. -
Sugar act
The Sugar Act of 1764 made it harder for colonists to smuggle resources. This also reduced the taxes on sugar. -
Stamp act
The Stamp Act of 1765 boycotted all items made of paper, this was called Taxation without representation. This was an attempt to raise money for Britain. -
Townshend act
The Townshend Act of 1767 taxed imported goods, allowed british officials to search houses without a warrant, and they thought it would make colonists happier but they were wrong. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre took place on March 5, 1770. The British soldiers shot and killed five people, and the colonists were rioting. -
Tea act
The Tea Act of 1773 allowed the company to ship right to the colonies without first landing in England. The tea came from the British east of India Company. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was held on December 16, 1773. The colonists dumped chests of tea into the water off a boat in Boston Harbor. -
Intolerable acts
The Intolerable Acts of 1774 was a punishment for the Boston Tea party, they closed all the Boston ports. -

The Battle of Lexington and Concord was held on April 19, 1775 and was the start of the Revolutionary war.
